Join us on Saturday, May 8 at 1PM for a lunchtime Master Class webinar! Whether it’s an early Mother’s Day celebration or a lunchtime gathering among family or friends, this 90-minute webinar is a terrific opportunity to learn about a new three-tier classification system in Bordeaux – the Cru Bourgeois du Médoc. We are thrilled to welcome Mary Gorman-McAdams, MW, 2019-2020 Bordeaux Wine Council’s Market Adviser for North America, who will join our own Monica Marin, Director of WSET Education Programs, to guide us through the new system and explain the real meaning of being a Cru Bourgeois. This webinar includes a gift box with 3 full-sized bottles of Cru Bourgeois, one of each level of the new classification system, as well as a few other surprises (Cru Bourgeois goodies, maps, brochures…)!

This meaningful classification is a benefit for both consumers and producers. It reassures consumers about the quality and value of the wine they are buying and recognizes achievements by producers who invest in their properties. The classification begins with blind tasting of multiple vintages by independent judges to achieve the base level certification of Cru Bourgeois. Producers who wish to reach the two higher tiers, Supérieur and Exceptionnel, must also be assessed for their environmental practices, winemaking techniques and marketing/promotion practices. The updated classification system rewards producers who invest in their properties for the long term.

This Master Class webinar will have a wine from a producer in each of the three tiers: Cru Bourgeois, Cru Bourgeois Supérieur and Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel.

There will also be a video presentation from winemakers from Château Poitevin and Lilian Ladouys.

The webinar will be recorded in case you cannot attend live.

We urge customers to pick up their wines, which are packaged in a gift box with the extras from the Association des Crus Bourgeois, from our store. Wines will be available for pickup on Friday, April 23. If you wish to have the wines shipped to you, please call the store (310-479-3731) to arrange. We regret that if we ship the wines, they will not be in the gift box.

Note: Cancellations must be received at least 72 hours before start time for a refund or transfer to another class or event. No cancellations after wines are picked up or shipped.

UPDATED CURBSIDE PICKUP INSTRUCTIONS:

1) Place your online order.
- You will receive 2 emails. The first will acknowledge receipt of your order and the second will let you know that your order is ready for pickup.

2) Please reply to the second email to tell us you want curbside pickup. IMPORTANT: If you have multiple orders to consolidate, please let us know as we will need extra time to get those to the front of the store!
- We will prepare your order(s), move them to the front of the store and send you a confirmation email that curbside pickup is ready.

3) Pull up in front of the store. There is no need to call when you arrive at the store – just roll down your passenger window and let us know the name on the order(s).
- We will put your order(s) in your vehicle. There is no need to step out of your vehicle.

Due to the large number of phone calls we have been receiving and the time it takes to consolidate orders, please reply to the email letting you know that your wine is ready for pickup and give us time stage and consolidate your order(s). There is no need to phone the store to arrange curbside pickup.
