Dinner with RAEN Wines
Special guest Carlo Mondavi
April 13 at 7 PM

Addie's Place
(Private room adjacent to Upstairs 2)
$150
(includes tax & gratuity)

Join us for an intimate four-course wine dinner featuring the wines of RAEN Wines in Addie's Place. Join Carlo Mondavi a 4th generation vintner born and raised in Napa Valley, California. In 2013 Carlo and his brother Dante founded RAEN winery with the goal to produce world class Pinot Noir on the western hills of the Sonoma Coast. As winemakers and farmers, Carlo and Dante attribute a great deal of what they have learned to their grandfather Robert and father Tim, both whom influenced them from a young age. Carlo and Dante's father Tim was a pioneer for California Pinot Noir in the early 1970s and has always had a tremendous regard for the great wines of Burgundy. To this day his Pinot Noirs from the 1970s are showing incredibly well. Carlo and Dante credit their father's passion for Pinot Noir as the early inspiration that got them excited at a young age. Demand for RAEN wines has exceeded supply, and the winery is sold out of all 3 vintages!

Enjoy an exquisite four-course dinner paired with RAEN wines plus some of Carlo's personal favorites to complete the dinner
$150 All Inclusive. Seating is very limited, so don't delay!

What You Absolutely Need To Know About Wine
Monday, April 24

Class begins at 7 PM
This class was previously named Absolute Beginning Wine Appreciation, but that title limited the participants to people who knew that didn't know the basics of wine. Truth be told, there is a lot of fundamental information about wine that most people have just skipped over in order to get to the drinking part! So whether an absolute beginner or hardened vet, this class will teach you something you didn't know or at least were not sure of in the complex, wonderful world of wine.

While based on the information offered in Absolute Beginners, this is a newly structured Power Point type of class presented along with nine great wines to illustrate the information. The most heard comments after this class are usually along the lines of "I've been drinking wine for 15 years, going tasting in Santa Barbara and Napa, etc, and I learned more about wine in the first 20 minutes of this class than I did in all that time!"

Join Tasting & Seminars Director JB Severin for an entertaining revelation.

Dinner with New Zealand's
Kumeu River Wines
May 2 at 7 PM

Upstairs 2
$135
(includes tax & gratuity)
We are thrilled to welcome Paul Brajkovich, Sales & Marketing Director at Kumeu River, for a spectacular four-course wine dinner featuring the critically acclaimed wines of Kumeu River in Upstairs 2. The Brajkovichs, owners of the Kumeu River Winery, are nationally recognized as a founding family of the New Zealand wine industry, and the current generation are internationally recognized as producing world class Chardonnay. Kumeu River Chardonnays have been named to The Wine Advocate’s 50 Best New Releases from 2015 and Wine Spectator’s Top 100 list.

Two courses of the dinner will pair library releases of Kumeu River’s elegant Burgundian-style vineyard-designated Chardonnays next to current releases so that guests can experience the evolution of these sublime wines.

“If you can taste history, duty, and family pride in a glass, it’s there in the Kumeu River Chardonnays...now producing some of New Zealand’s greatest Chardonnays, not to mention the world’s.
- Lisa Perrotti-Brown, M.W., Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate

The Wines of Piedmont
The Third of a Six-Part Educational Series on Italy's Most Important Regions
Monday, May 8

Class begins at 7 PM
$40
The Wine House is delighted to partner with Dalla Terra (Italian Winery Direct Importer) to present a six-part educational series covering Italy’s most important wine regions – including well-known favorites as well as the most exciting up-and-coming areas. The course will take place once a month on the 2nd Monday of the month. Participants will journey across Italy learning about historical events and outside influences, appellation breakdowns, native grape varieties, while tasting wines specific to the regions.

Italy is one of the most interesting countries for wine, but Italy can be intimidating, as it is vast, regionally specific, with tremendous diversity! This series gives you the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of each region in particular, and the entire country as a whole. This series is led by Diego Meraviglia, Vice President & Director Of Education of North American Sommelier Association, who was born and raised in Northern Piedmont. Diego’s passion, educational technique and experience gives you a whole new perspective on one of the most beloved wine countries. You will leave this course excited and inspired to learn and taste more!

This month, in the third class of the series, we journey to the Piedmont region.

Course Schedule (remaining classes):
May 8: Piedmont (waitlist)
June 12: Abruzzo, Le Marche, Emilia Romagna
