WINE HOUSE CLASSES FOR ALL LEVELS!
Kick off the New Year by increasing your knowledge about wine... or sake! The Wine House is now offering multiple levels of WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) courses, including the WSET Level 1 Award in Sake. We also offer courses from the Wine Scholar Guild, including the
introductory Italian Wine Scholar Prep course and the in-depth French Wine Scholar course. All courses have been adapted to use technology in the educational process to ensure student and instructor safety. Please see below for each course's details (online modules, course structure, instructors, whether wines are included or optional, how exams are administered, etc.), as each course is structured differently.
As noted in Food & Wine, the Wine House was named one of ten of the “World’s Best Wine Shops.” In addition to being described as a “wine geek’s dream destination” with modest markups and excellent small-production offerings, we were noted for having “an impressive lineup of classes.” We are delighted to be able to offer our class lineup again. Some of the courses will be instructed by Monica Marin, Director of Education here at The Wine House, who was named 2019 French Wine Scholar (FWS) Instructor of the Year by the Wine Scholar Guild and is
one of ten educators worldwide who was nominated by the WSET as an Educator of the Year for 2019!

The Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 Award in Wines course is intended as vocational training in product knowledge for those employed in the drinks
industry but who have little previous knowledge of the broad range of alcoholic beverages available. The qualification is suitable wherever a good level of product knowledge is required to underpin job skills and competencies. The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines course is also appropriate for those not employed in the drinks industry but who want a serious education in wine and wish to broaden their knowledge in a structured way.
The course is based around a 5-week, 6-module online program with a recommendation of 6 hours study per week to cover the online activities and read the relevant chapters in the textbook (30 hours total for the course). Regular access and participation in the course online activities is essential for this mode of study. This course includes a 6-wine tasting kit and a live webinar tasting led by Monica Marin, FWS/DWS, and nominee for WSET Educator of the Year 2019.
The online course structure allows the student to work ahead or catch up on the activities and forums. There are no set times to log into the course as there are no live chats or webinars, except for the tasting webinar (Wednesday, January 27 at 6:30PM, which will be recorded for students who can’t attend live) and the exam on March 6.
