The Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 Award in Wines course is intended as vocational training in product knowledge for those employed in the drinks industry but who have little previous knowledge of the broad range of alcoholic beverages available. The qualification is suitable wherever a good level of product knowledge is required to underpin job skills and competencies. The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines course is also appropriate for those not employed in the drinks industry but who want a serious education in wine, and wish to broaden their knowledge in a structured way. Wine tasting is a part of every class. The WSET recommends that students complete at least 14 hours of personal study outside the classroom hours during their course of study. The 4-week duration of this course allows students ample time to prepare for the exam.

This course includes:

In-Store “Nama Night” Featuring Unpasteurized “Namazake” Sakes
Thursday, May 23, 2024

7:00 to 8:30 PM

$35
Nama (生) means “raw” or “fresh” in Japanese, and it refers to “unpasteurized” sake. While most sakes that hit US shores have been pasteurized twice (once at filtering, and then again at bottling), “Namazake” is either only pasteurized once, or not at all. While these sakes are more difficult to transport (because they must be kept at a constant cold temperature), they also taste lively with fresher and fruitier flavors and aromas – in a way that normal sakes do not. We only get limited amounts of these sakes every year (mostly in the spring), and we’re thrilled to have a special night featuring the best we could get our hands on! Representatives from Kome Collective, Sake Tengoku, and Mutual Trading Co will be here to answer your questions. Sample 14 Namazake with light snacks that show the versatility of sake pairing for only $35. We look forward to seeing you! Kanpai!

Kome Collective:
Taka “Noble Arrow” Tokubetsu Junmai Namazake
Fukucho “Moon On The Water” Junmai Ginjo Namazake Sake
Rihaku “Dreamy Clouds” Namazake Sake
Ama No To Namazake “Heaven’s Door” Tokubetsu Junmai

Sake Tengoku:
Jozen Mizuno Gotoshi Junmai Ginjo Namazake
Tsuji Zenbei Junmai Ginjo Muroka Nama Genshu Omachi
Aizu Chujo Junmai Ginjo Namachozo (300ml)
Matsuno Kotobuki Ginjo Namachozo (300ml)

Haneya Aiyama Junmai Daiginjo
Amabuki Banana Junmai Daiginjo
