It's crafted by winemaker Andy Erickson, who not only is the former winemaker at Screaming Eagle (where he earned 100 point scores), but he is also responsible for much of the success of brands like Harlan, Staglin, Dalla Valle and now Mayacamas. Andy is a guy who knows how to make great red wine, and with Leviathan his main goal is to produce a distinctive wine from vineyards sourced throughout Northern California. Leviathan has compelling aromatics and is made in a vibrant, opulent style. James Suckling awarded the 2019 his highest score ever, 95 points, and notes that it has ‘very pure fruit this year... 95 Points: “Very pure fruit this year with ripe raspberries and fresh currants throughout. Full-to medium-bodied with soft, polished tannins and bright, clean fruit. It’s really balanced and the finish and makes you want to drink it. Subtle and vivid fruit at the end. Yet, it can improve with age. TASTING NOTES
The 2019 Leviathan boasts an intense mix of fresh boysenberry, black cherry and plum jump from the glass with cocoa powder, allspice and nutmeg. Its earthy elements of our rocky northern California hillsides include Bay Laurel, sage, cedar, dry red earth which speak to its origins. Supple and balanced tannins of this rich wine lead to a long savory finish with hints of graphite and star anise. It is approachable now and built to cellar.

Capturing decades of winemaking experience and vineyard knowledge, renowned winemaker Andy Erickson began Leviathan in 2004 with a single goal: to create a red wine each vintage free from the restraints of appellations and crafted from notable vineyards throughout California.

UPDATED CURBSIDE PICKUP INSTRUCTIONS (AUGUST 2021):

1. Place your online order, select “curbside pickup” and the date you wish to pick up your order. You will receive several emails. The first will acknowledge receipt of your order, another will let you know that your order is ready for curbside pickup.

2. When your order is ready for curbside pickup, it will be at the front of the store. IMPORTANT! Due to space constraints, orders will only be held in the front of the store for curbside pickup for 3 days. After 3 days, they will be moved back to Will Call by the Customer Service Desk inside the store.

3. When picking up, pull up in front of the store. There is no need to call when you arrive at the store – just roll down your passenger window and let us know the name on the order. We will put your order in your vehicle. There is no need to step out of your vehicle.
