VIBRANT WHITE BURGUNDY FROM ONE OF THE MOST TALENTED, RISING YOUNG SUPERSTAR WINEMAKERS!

"Since leaving Domaine Comte Armand and starting his own negociant, Benjamin Leroux has proven himself to be one of the most talented winemakers of his generation. An absolute superstar! Drawing on his experience at Comte Armand, he only works with vineyards that have been meticulously managed and specializes in highlighting unique, underrated sites and terroir. Year after year, his wines are vibrant and balanced with great minerality.

We are thrilled to be able to offer two of Benjamin Leroux's whites from the extraordinary 2018 vintage: the 2018 Benjamin Leroux Bourgogne Blanc and the 2018 Benjamin Leroux Saint Romain Sous Le Château. But don’t just take it from me, Allen Meadows of Burghound has championed Benjamin Leroux from the beginning, calling him ‘positively brilliant.’ He does not give out 90+ point reviews as regularly as some other professional wine reviewers – there is no ‘score inflation’ in his world – so a high 80s score on the 2018s is huge for him. Personally, I would ignore the score (we included it as a reference and because his meticulous tasting notes are so informative) and just know that I feel this is one of the greatest values in white burgundy! These have definitely become my personal ‘house white’ wines!" – Jim Knight, The Wine House

"Extremely thoughtful . . . positively brilliant . . . one of, if not the, most gifted young winemaker in all of Burgundy." – Allen Meadows, Burghound

NOTES ABOUT BENJAMIN LEROUX FROM THE IMPORTER

Ben takes a domaine philosophy, focused on establishing and maintaining contracts with growers who work for top quality vines and fruit rather than seeking prestigious appellations. Ben and his team carefully guide the vineyard work, for the most part carried out by the owners. Vines are plowed and are at least lutte raisonnée, while many are organic or biodynamic. When Ben deems necessary, his team carries out green harvest themselves. All vines are harvested by Ben’s team and grapes are sorted at the winery in Beaune. Ben’s cuverie is fit with state of the art equipment.
