SUPERB VALUE – ‘SUPER TUSCAN’ QUALITY
FOR UNDER $18 A BOTTLE!

“I have been a fan of Elena Pozzolini’s winemaking and vineyard skills ever since I met her back in 2007 in Santa Ynez when she was working with Sashi Moorman (Domaine de La Cote, Sandhi, Stolpman, and Piedrassi). She was even gracious enough to help me with my 2007 and 2008 vintages of Jelly Roll. She made them way better! And now she is killing it in the southern part of Tuscany, near Bolgheri, making delicious Bordeaux red blends! Today's offer, 2015 Tenuta Sette Cieli ‘Yantra’, is a fantastic value for the quality of juice! It was a favorite at an Italian event we had here back in June this year with 24 other wines. If you are looking for the “Super Tuscan” style wine at a not “Super Tuscan” price (under $18 a bottle – the lowest price in the country when you buy 2 or more!), then this is the gem of a wine for you! Taste this, and see why I am such a fan of what Pozzolini is doing in the vineyard and in the cellar. Also, their vineyards are actually Sassicaia and other big name Super Tuscans-adjacent (see photo below)!” –Jim Knight, The Wine House

ABOUT ELENA POZZOLINI
Born near Florence, Italy, in 1983, Elena Pozzolini received a degree in viticulture and enology from the University of Pisa, Italy. Elena’s winemaking experience spanned several continents, including South America (Mendoza, Argentina), Australia (Mornington Peninsula), North America (Santa Ynez Valley, California) and Europe (Tuscany, Italy), before she joined the team at Tenuta Sette Cieli in 2013.
ABOUT TENUTA SETTE CIELI

Tenuta Sette Cieli is located between Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci, on the coast of Tuscany at 400 meters above sea level. The Estate sprawls out over 80 hectares, 10 of which are set up as vineyards. Dry stone wall terraces separate the different grape varieties grown: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec, are planted at high density in an ideal terrain for grape viticulture. The Estate overlooks Bolgheri and its landscapes made up of gently down sloping hills that enclose the sea, thus creating a fantastic mild and temperate microclimate.

Fully respecting nature and the vines, we have chosen organic viticulture to cooperate to the safekeeping and valorisation of the environment, a value that cannot be separated from quality when working with nature. In the vineyards, every operation is done by hand with careful and fastidious attention to every detail. The journey continues in the cellar where, moreover, the careful labor of the vineyards goes on, using single-variety vinifcation. Fermentation starts with wild yeasts, found on the skins of the grapes, so all the process is natural. The final selection of the wines is done only after a period of barrel ageing in French oak barrels.
