The 2016 Versos de Valtuille Cepas Centenarias is a one of my favorite styles of Spanish wine. It is aged for 4 to 6 months in oak barrels and then bottled, producing a soft, velvety wine that is mouth filling yet elegant. This wine is delicious by itself but it's very versatile with food; it pairs perfectly with lighter meats such as pork or lamb, a good roast chicken, or with any meat or sausage off the grill. This is a wine that you will want to uncork often... whether on a weeknight or when friends stop over. FROM THE WINERY

A poem made wine, structured and easy to drink. A wine with an accentuated gastronomic profile and a delicate texture.

Vineyards: Vineyard planted in bush with an average age of 90 years. Located on hillsides at an altitude between 400 and 600 meters with mostly clay soil and the presence of sand in the highest areas.

Harvest: Hand harvested

Winemaking: Grapes harvested by hand and transported in boxes to the winery where they are hand selected. We perform a pre-fermentation maceration at low temperature for 5 days in stainless steel tanks. Afterwards the alcoholic fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature durring 7-10 days. The post-fermentation maceration is carried out for approximately 10 days, and once finished, the wine is brought to French oak barrels where it will remain for 4-6 months. Once bottled the wine rests in the bottle for at least 2 months.

Tasting Notes: Intense cherry red color and violet reflections. Clean, bright. With good intensity in nose, where aromas of ripe red fruits appear, combined with mineral touches and black licorice, as well as the presence of smoke and balsamic notes. The palate is structured and unctuous, with pleasant oak leaves. Fresh and balanced, with good persistence.

Aging: Between 4 to 6 months in oak barrels and 2 months in bottle

- You will receive 2 emails. The first will acknowledge receipt of your order and the second will let you know that your order is ready for pickup.

2) Please reply to the second email to tell us you want curbside pickup. IMPORTANT: If you have multiple orders to consolidate, please let us know as we will need extra time to get those to the front of the store!
- We will prepare your order(s), move them to the front of the store and send you a confirmation email that curbside pickup is ready.

3) Pull up in front of the store. There is no need to call when you arrive at the store – just roll down your passenger window and let us know the name on the order(s).
- We will put your order(s) in your vehicle. There is no need to step out of your vehicle.

Due to the large number of phone calls we have been receiving and the time it takes to consolidate orders, please reply to the email letting you know that your wine is ready for pickup and give us time stage and consolidate your order(s). There is no need to phone the store to arrange curbside pickup.
